Question: Can you explain the differences between a “Veil” and a “Curtain” in the Bible?
“Curtain”, as per the Temple Curtain; which was rent when Jesus stated; “It is finished”; referring to His Sacrifice on Calvary's Cross!
“Veil”; as per, that over the understanding of the Jewish people; re. Jesus as their Messiah (2Cor. 3:14–16); which will last until Zech.12:10!
So; in the Bible, the "Veil placed by God on the Jewish understanding" refers to a metaphorical barrier that prevents Jews from fully understanding the true meaning of the Old Testament Scriptures, particularly regarding Jesus as the Messiah, often symbolized by the physical Veil that separated the Holy of Holies in the Temple, signifying the separation between God and humanity due to sin; this "Veil" can only be removed through faith in Jesus Christ.
